One reason why you may want to learn to play the guitar is so that you can sing while you play; and it does not matter if you choose to sing songs written by other people or simply play your own. People who can play the guitar make it look easy, but like anything else, it will be difficult at first, in fact, it is unlikely that you will pick up a guitar and be able to sing a song right away while playing it. If the guitar is new to you do not worry that it all seems difficult at first.

You are unlikely to get it on the first try, but do not become frustrated, all beginners make mistakes. Beginners have to start somewhere.

You should not expect to play the guitar faultlessly in just 15 minutes and this is a valuable learn to play guitar for beginners lesson you must burn into your memory: Do not expect that you can produce perfection every single time. Even your guitar heroes started by making all these beginners mistakes and you will find learning impossible if you are unable to make mistakes, okay? Play Guitar For Beginners – The Initial Steps

Before you commence any type of play guitar for beginners instruction, the first step you should take is to buy your own guitar. For your first guitar it is probably best to have it strung with soft strings so that you do not hurt your fingers too much at first. Also, choose the right sized guitar, avoid one that is too heavy or big for you, the wrong size guitar will be uncomfortable when you use it and be more difficult to play.

You should also avoid spending too much money on your first guitar as there are many cheap guitars that are efficient and dependable and just as good to start learning on. A reasonably priced second hand guitar is also worth considering, as long as the weight and size are good, it will be perfect to get you started.

Once you have your very own guitar, you will need to tune it before you play it. As a beginner you will find tuning your guitar a little complicated so it might be better to purchase an electronic guitar tuner. Another item to consider is whether to use a pick or not; it is not recommended that you use your finger nails to strum or pluck the guitar as your fingers are going to be sore enough, even if using a pick. Having to stop playing your guitar because your fingers have become too sore is the last thing you want.

The next step is to begin learning the guitar chords. Any play guitar for beginners material you invest in should cover chords and the correct fingers to use on the designated strings. Beginners should first learn to play guitar chords before progressing to guitar tabs.

Videos are also available for beginners or people who want to learn how to play the guitar. You can access these through your computer and learn from them; watch carefully how the players position their hands and fingers. Also take notice of the way in which they position their fingers and the way they hold the guitar. Most of the play guitar for beginners lessons will cover this very well.

Once you master learning and memorizing the guitar chords, you can play songs for beginners on your guitar. As long as you have the right learn to play guitar for beginners instruction you will soon move quickly from being unable to play at all, to a guitar novice playing a few songs.

Obviously, playing the guitar is like any other skill. The more time spent practicing and the more effort you put into it, the more you will be get in return. It will perhaps be difficult at first, you will require a little determination and the proper encouragement but with the right learn to play guitar for beginners material to keep you motivated you will soon move beyond novice into intermediate.

Learn to Play Guitar

If you make the decision to learn to play guitar it means something has suddenly stirred you into action. The ambition of learning to play guitar is no longer a dream. It’s time to take action, today. If you just got given a guitar as a present, you usually don’t want to just allow your new instrument to gather dust in the corner. Now is the time to experience what you can do about learning guitar. Do you believe your local music teacher can show you what you need to know? Or do you think you can learn to play guitar for free on the internet? It would be very good to look into teaching yourself guitar. And not spending money to do it makes it even more enticing

When you embark on learning how to play the guitar you need to have some goals. If you want to learn to play some of Eddy Van Halen’s solos, that’s fine. If you want to fill a spot in a local covers band, that’s alright, too. Maybe you are a surf guitar buff and would like to spend hours in your garage recreating the **** Dale sound. These are all good goals. They give you a picture in your imagination of you setting your dream into practice

Let’s look at how you are going to learn to play guitar. A guitar teacher can put himself in your shoes and help you to find your way as a learner guitar player or as a potential professional musician. He has been a beginner, he has struggled to learn, and he has had ambitions of success, just like you. There are some great books and DVDs that can show you how to play the guitar, but they can’t stop you and show you if you are doing something wrong.

If you resolve to go ahead and learn guitar without a teacher, you will need a plan. Your plan will involve things like a timeframe to learn chords and tabs. You might set yourself a year to get a repertoire of your favorite songs. You also need a practice schedule

If you are determined to teach yourself to play the guitar, you need to resign yourself to paying for your new guitar skills with time and energy. A simple practice regime is a thirty minute practice session starting with five minutes warming up, practicing scales for five minutes, working on left hand techniques for ten minutes, and then working on a new song or instrumental piece for ten minutes. If you don’t understand what warming up or working on technique mean, you need to do some more research

It is not all that difficult to learn how to play the guitar, but it IS challenging. If you are already an adult with your school and college years behind you, taking on acquiring a new skill is going to be a big business. Making the decision to commence is going to be half the battle. When you start learning how to read music or guitar tablature you will find it’s not hard to do. Spending half an hour a day on guitar practice will be quite an enjoyable way to spend time after you come home from work. Maybe even better than drinking beer. Mmmm . . . guitar practice.

Reading through the practice routine and seeing how the time is allotted you will probably wonder why more time is not given to learning new material. The fact is, the whole process of learning to play the guitar is changing how your body, mind and feelings work. After a year or so playing the guitar you’re a different animal. So you might think the most important part is the song, but what’s important is the whole process and keeping it balanced. So learning to play the guitar is never really free.

Easy Songs On The Acoustic Guitar: Learn How To Play

Posted on June 22nd, 2009 by guitarbiz in Music - Play Guitar
Sophia MUNOZ posted:

There is something deliciously special about playing acoustic guitar songs. If you try you will see. Just try to hold one and you will experience something special. Have you ever dreamed of being the one holding the guitar around the campfire and playing that song everyone is singing? You can be that person too. Just give it a go and you will see how magic and powerful it is to play the acoustic guitar. Having a dozen people around you at the beach on a full moon being mesmerized by the lyrical power of the musical notes you are playing on the acoustic guitar, is something you cannot put into words if you have not experienced it.

Most people who are drawn to acoustic guitars, but who have never played guitar, are a little star-struck by them. They sometimes believe that the guitar is much more than what it is. Being able to produce music seems like magic in a way. Music is such a powerful, universal language that it can be overwhelming to think that you could make that happen. Feeling this way can make people feel skittish with an acoustic guitar and treat it too gingerly.

If you have never tried playing acoustic guitar before, you can be somewhat impressed by its majesty. However, keep something simple in mind: learning how to play acoustic guitar is like learning a new language: it is definitely hard at the beginning, each step requiring time and dedication, but it is definitely achievable. Little by little you are gaining more confidence and the acoustic guitar will quite naturally become an extension of your hands, musical notes flowing right through it like words flowing through a poet.

Acoustic guitars were created to be played. There are a lot of easy songs you can start playing on your acoustic guitar even though you are beginner. Some people think that the best acoustic guitar songs are the ones that are easy to remember, others think that they are the ones that are easy to play. I personally think that you need a combination of both. Here are some of my favorite acoustic guitar songs for beginners:

Riders on the Storm by the Doors

Happy Christmas by John Lennon

Tangled Up in Blue by Bob Dylan

Sitting on the dock of the bay by Otis Redding

There are a myriad of other songs you can play from John Taylor, The Eagles Joni Mitchell or Jewell. Playing the acoustic guitar is magic: give in to your temptation and take the step today!

You will never regret it.
